Banyuwangi - Regency of Banyuwangi Banyuwangi again held the Red Island International Surfing Competition in 2014. Event concept sports tourism is the second time after successfully held last year.
Committee Chairman, Ahmad Khoirullah, say, an international surfing competition will be held on 23-25 ​​May with melombakan 3 categories, namely local level, national, and international. No fewer than 120 participants from 15 countries will participate. The surfer such as Belgium, Austria, United States, Malaysia, Turkey, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and Serbia.
"Obviously the local surfers and national Banyuwangi helped enliven this event," said Khoirullah also as Acting Head of Youth and Sports during a press conference in the Hall Sabha Swagata Blambangan, Saturday (17/05/2014) afternoon.
He said, this event will also be enlivened by the students from a surf school in Europe. They are doing a comparative study surf tourism in Indonesia, and by the event organizers are invited to try out the International Surfing Competition in Red Island, Banyuwangi.
The competition promises fantastic action of the surfers conquer the waves at Beach Red Island. One of the leading tourist spot in East Java has a wave with a height of up to 4 meters long and up to 400 meters.
"With the unique island looming in the middle, Red Island Beach became one of the alluring tourist destinations that must be visited. Surfing competition event is also part of the promotion of Red Island beach tourism destinations that are now well known and crowded tourist dikunjung," said Khoirullah.
